RingIt

Terms of Service

Effective Date: 21/07/2026

Welcome to RingIt! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RingIt mobile application ("App") operated by Modavi ("we", "our", "us").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RingIt, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you are under 13 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage your account.

2. Description of Service

RingIt allows authorized users (friends, family, or your other devices) to remotely make your phone ring loudly, even when it is on silent mode or Do Not Disturb, to help you locate it.

RingIt is a convenience tool, not a safety, security, or emergency service. We do not guarantee that a device will ring, be located, or be recovered. A ring depends on factors outside our control, including your device's network connection, battery, operating system, notification permissions, and third-party push-notification services. Do not rely on RingIt in any situation where a failure to ring could lead to harm. In an emergency, always contact your local emergency services (112 in the EU/Belgium).

3. Account Registration

To use RingIt, you must:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • Keep your password secure and confidential.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Abuse, harass, or spam other users.
  • Attempt to interfere with or compromise the App's security.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Ringing Between Users, Consent & Responsibility

The core purpose of RingIt is to let people you authorize make your device ring. Because of this, it is important that you understand and accept the following:

  • You control who can ring your device. A device can only be rung by users you have granted permission to. You may review, add, or revoke these permissions at any time in the App, and you may mute or set quiet hours on your device.
  • Granting permission is your decision and your risk. When you allow another user to ring your device, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept that they may cause it to ring loudly at any time of day or night, including while you are asleep, and even when your device is on silent or Do Not Disturb. This is the intended behavior of the App.
  • You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. Modavi is not a party to the relationship between you and the people you authorize. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Modavi has no liability for any user's action or inaction, including any ring (or absence of a ring) triggered by an authorized user, or for any disturbance, inconvenience, missed sleep, or similar effect resulting from an authorized ring.
  • Use it responsibly. Do not use the ring feature to harass, alarm, or disturb others. If you no longer wish to receive rings from a particular user, revoke their permission or mute your device.

Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Belgian or EU law (see Section 14).

6. Subscriptions, Free Trial & Billing

RingIt's core features are free to use. We also offer an optional Premium subscription that unlocks additional features.

  • Plans: Premium is available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. The exact plans, prices, and any free-trial terms are always shown in the App before you confirm a purchase.
  • Free trial: Where offered, a free trial gives you Premium access for the stated period. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it automatically converts into a paid subscription and the applicable price is charged.
  • Auto-renewal: Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the period.
  • Billing via the app stores: All purchases and subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), acting as seller of record, through your store account. Modavi does not receive or store your payment card details. Your purchase is also subject to the terms of the relevant app store.

7. Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time. Because subscriptions are billed by the app stores, cancellation is done through your store account, not inside RingIt:

  • iOS (Apple): Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select RingIt → Cancel Subscription. Alternatively, open the App Store, tap your account icon, then Subscriptions.
  • Android (Google Play): Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → select RingIt → Cancel subscription.

Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep Premium access until the end of the period you have already paid for; access is not cut off immediately. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription. A one-time Lifetime purchase does not renew and does not need to be cancelled.

8. Refunds

Because purchases are processed by the app stores, refunds are handled by Apple and Google, not by Modavi. We are generally unable to issue refunds directly.

  • Apple (App Store): Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Google (Google Play): Request a refund through the Google Play Store or at play.google.com.

This does not affect any statutory refund or withdrawal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable law (see Section 18).

9. Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price change applies only to future billing periods. Where required by the app stores or by applicable law, you will be notified in advance and, for auto-renewing subscriptions, asked to consent to a price increase before it takes effect; otherwise your subscription may not renew. You can always cancel before a change takes effect (see Section 7).

10. Changes to and Availability of the Service

We may update, add, change, or remove features of the App to improve it, for security, or for legal or technical reasons. We may also suspend or discontinue the App or any feature. Where we make a change that goes beyond what is necessary to keep the App working as agreed and that more than minimally affects your access to or use of paid features, we will inform you and, where applicable law (including the EU Digital Content Directive) grants it, you will have the right to terminate the affected subscription free of charge. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available or uninterrupted.

11. Privacy

Your use of RingIt is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

12. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by Modavi and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our prior written consent.

13. Third-Party Services and App Stores

The App relies on third-party services to function, including Apple and Google (app distribution, in-app purchases, and push notifications) and RevenueCat (subscription management). Your use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your download and use of the App is also subject to the terms of the app store you obtained it from.

14. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that a device will ring, be located, or be recovered. Modavi does not assume any liability for lost, missing, or unrecovered devices.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Modavi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App, or from rings triggered by other users.

Where our liability is not excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for our intentional fault (opzet) or gross negligence (zware fout), and any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Belgian law or applicable mandatory EU consumer law. Your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by this section.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Modavi from any third-party claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App or your breach of these Terms. If you are a consumer, this obligation applies only to the extent the relevant claim results from your intentional or negligent conduct, and nothing in this section limits your mandatory statutory rights.

16. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time (see the App settings, or contact us). We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, or where required by law. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid, except where required by law or the app store's policies. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 12, 14, 15, 18 and 19) continue to apply.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the App.

18. Governing Law and Your Consumer Rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. If you are a consumer, you benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of the country in which you reside, and nothing in these Terms deprives you of those protections. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts of Belgium; if you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings, or be sued, in the courts of your country of residence where applicable law so provides.

Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
